NDIA Washington D.C. Chapter
2021 James E. McInerney, Jr. Scholar Award
The Chapter Board of Directors established a new, additional scholarship award in 2014 in honor of one our long-serving Board Members, Maj Gen James E. McInerney Jr., USAF (Retired). General McInerney epitomized the Warrior Scholar ethos. He had a very distinguished career in the Air Force, serving at every level, to include a Combat Command. Among his numerous decorations, he is the recipient of the Air Force Cross, 3 Silver Stars, 7 Distinguished Flying Cross’, the Bronze Star and 18 Air Medals. His post military career continued his service to the national security arena as a key Executive for the National NDIA organization as well as serving as the NDIA liaison on our local Chapter Board for many years.
Our Chapter Scholarship Committee will review all of the nominees from the local ROTC units that have been submitted and select one Cadet, Midshipman, or PLC Candidate, the best of the best to receive a special scholarship award of $5,000 in Major General McInerney’s name.
Your contributions – both personal and corporate – are fully tax-deductible by law (NDIA’s tax ID is 53-0196547). You can make your check(s) payable to NDIA Washington, D.C. Chapter James E. McInerney, Jr. Scholar Award and mail to:
